App Store & Google Play Screenshot Sizes (2026)
Verified againstApple screenshot specifications,Google Play asset specificationson 2026-08-15.
Most screenshot size pages get three things wrong: they print 1320x2868 as the only 6.9 inch size, they skip the 6.3 inch class entirely, and they quote Android as a single fixed 1080x1920. The tables below are the corrected version, verified against Apple and Google's own documentation.

Frequently asked questions
What screenshot size does Apple actually require?
If your app runs on iPhone, you only have to supply the 6.9 inch display class, and Apple accepts any one of three pixel dimensions for it: 1320x2868, 1290x2796, or 1260x2736. Uploading one of those satisfies the requirement, and the App Store scales it down for smaller iPhones automatically. Every other iPhone class is optional.
Is 1320x2868 the only 6.9 inch size?
No. That is the common misconception. Apple accepts three pixel dimensions for the 6.9 inch class: 1320x2868, 1290x2796, and 1260x2736. They correspond to different device generations from the iPhone Air and 17 Pro Max down to the 14 Pro Max. Any one of the three is accepted, you do not need all three.
Do I need to upload the 6.3 inch size?
No, the 6.3 inch class (1206x2622 or 1179x2556) is optional. It covers the iPhone 17 Pro, 17, 16 Pro, 16, 15 Pro, 15, and 14 Pro. If you omit it, the App Store scales your 6.9 inch screenshots down to fit. Supply it only if that automatic scaling crops something important in your screenshots.
What is the correct screenshot size for Google Play?
Google does not publish a single fixed size the way Apple does. It publishes a range: each side must be between 320px and 3840px, and the longer side may be no more than twice the shorter side. Screenshots must be JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no alpha, and you need at least 2. 1080x1920 portrait is a common pick, but it is a choice, not the spec.
How many screenshots can I upload per platform?
Apple allows up to 10 screenshots per display class and requires at least one for the 6.9 inch iPhone class, plus the 13 inch iPad class if your app supports iPad. Google Play requires a minimum of 2 phone screenshots and recommends at least 4 at 1080px or larger on the shortest side to be eligible for promotional placements.
